Stop By and See Us

An attendee of Firehouse World in 2006 shows off the signature Fireman's Fund leather fire helmet he won at the Fireman's Fund Heritage booth.

As one way to stay connected to the fire service and learn about your needs, we participate in fire service trade shows and other events throughout the country. This year we kick off our attendance at a host of major fire service expos and gatherings with Firehouse World in San Diego, the largest fire and emergency services expo, conference and training program on the West Coast.

If you're going to Firehouse World, or any of the other shows we'll be at this year (see sidebar), take a moment to drop by the Fireman's Fund Heritage booth. We'll have representatives on hand to answer questions about our Fireman's Fund Heritage program in more detail. Your fire department or organization may be the perfect fit for one of our agent- or employee-directed Fireman's Fund Heritage grants. If you won't be attending any of the shows we'll be at, you can still learn more at www.firemansfund.com/heritage.

An attendee of Fire Rescue International 2006, just having watched a screening of "Into the Fire," tells how the film "grabbed at my heart."

"Into the Fire"

At some shows, including Firehouse World in San Diego, we'll be offering a free screening of the documentary "Into the Fire," a hard-hitting and penetrating look into the real lives of firefighters today. First broadcast on The History Channel®, "Into the Fire" was praised by movie critics and firefighters alike for avoiding Hollywood stereotypes and portraying the real lives of firefighters. Now available on DVD, the documentary features career and volunteer firefighters from urban and rural communities across the country.

Fireman's Fund is donating the funds raised through "Into the Fire" to local fire departments and to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation "Into the Fire" fund. These funds in turn will be used to provide firefighters throughout the country with needed equipment—an investment that will help save lives. If you can't wait to see the movie, you can buy your own copy of "Into the Fire" on DVD, visit www.firemansfund.com/heritage.

Raise Awareness and Funds for Your Department

Fire departments and fire safety organizations are encouraged to screen "Into the Fire" in their community — at a station open house, community event, county fair, local movie theater or other venue. Copies of the DVD can also be used as a fundraiser. Fireman's Fund views "Into the Fire" as a tool for the fire service and will provide the DVD at a bulk rate for orders over 10 DVDs. Your organization can set the donation level you choose. To learn more, contact Fireman's Fund toll-free at 866.440.8716 or email heritage@ffic.com.
