Into the Fire Made for the Fire Service
Firemans Fund Insurance Company created Into the Fire to help raise the publics awareness of the many challenges faced by firefighters. Millions have already seen Into the Fire, which presents the stories of real firefighters in their own words. Firefighters and film critics alike have commended the film for its authenticity and its emotion.
Firemans Fund is not making money from Into the Fire. Instead, we want the film to benefit firefighters. Thats why Firemans Fund proudly offers Into the Fire to your department for fundraising and community education opportunities.

Fundraising
We invite fire departments and other fire service organizations to host Into the Fire screenings and/or use the DVD as a way to raise funds for your department, regional program, burn camp, firefighter memorial, or even to support the family of a fallen firefighter. Copies of the DVD are available for fundraising through three channels. Firemans Fund can help you choose which option may work best for you and your department:
- Order 10 or more copies of the DVD in advance at a discounted price for sale or donation at your events your department keeps the revenue. This option is likely to result in more funds raised.
- Use a DVD Donation Form where payment can be accepted on site and forwarded to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation for processing. Contact us for more information on this option.
- Provide DVD Flyers encouraging people to buy the DVD online and direct a donation to your fire department. (For each DVD purchased, Firemans Fund will donate $5 to the fire department designated by the purchaser.) Distribute flyers at fundraisers, local stores, and other public meeting places.
Screenings
We also encourage fire departments to host screenings of Into the Fire to raise community awareness about the challenges faced by firefighters – at your annual open house, county fair, or regular department fundraisers – or even as part of another community event. Firemans Fund will provide a complete guide to organizing a screening, using the Incident Command System. This screening playbook offers guidelines and tips to help facilitate a successful screening, as well as a draft incident action plan. Additionally, the playbook contains a CD with templates of items like posters, flyers, email and print invitations, a press release and even opening and closing comments.
To get a free copy of the screening playbook, email heritage@ffic.com or call 866.440.8716. We will then work to identify staff or local independent insurance agencies in the area that may be able to support your screening. Before your screening we will also send a specially-formatted, high-quality DVD for public presentation.
